Huddersfield Town Ladies Manager Ashley Vickers

Huddersfield Town Ladies finished the league season in style yesterday as they recorded an 11-0 win over Bradford City Women in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division.

A brace from Laura Elford and goals from Arianne Parnham, Lucy Sowerby and Lucy Roberts sent Town into the break with a commanding 5-0 lead at The Stafflex Arena.

The second period saw Kerry Hope, Lucy Sowerby, Kate Mallin and Sarah Dobby add to Huddersfield's tally. An own goal then took the scoreline into double figures before Laura Elford completed her hat-trick to make it eleven.

The win means Town finish the league campaign in 4th spot on 47 points. Meanwhile a bottom place finish for City means they will play in Northern Division One next season.

Speaking after the game Huddersfield Town Ladies Manager Ashley Vickers said: "To say we only had a bare XI today I thought we were excellent, each and every player involved were outstanding. We made sure we put a performance in.

"Today we also celebrated a special players career, Sarah Dobby played her final league game, I made her captain for the day and I’m sure it will be a day she will definitely remember."

He added: "I’m so proud of all the players of what we’ve achieved this season but against this I’m always looking at what we can achieve next. We have the cup final next week so we have one more week of hard work then we can rest."

Town's 2018-19 season reaches it's end on Sunday when they take on Barnsley Ladies in the Final of the Sheffield & Hallam Women's County Cup (15:00).
